The Man I Should Be
A song is an auditory piece of art. It’s usually birthed within the writer well before it feels the scratch of pen against paper. For me, this album began in the late 1990s, decades after time on the road with The Blessed Hope, then The Hope Of Glory and ultimately, The Hope. During the traveling years, though I tried, the songwriting craft eluded me -- or maybe the material just needed time to season. Eventually though, the words and melodies married in my thoughts and I began to write from a place of conviction, study, desire, pain, victory, defeat and finally -- hope.
As you listen, I pray these songs will root themselves deep within you, as they have in me.
